OK, our memories are already fading, so we'll start out with a set list as we remember it:

    Last One Standing

    King Tide

    Sinner

Not the Girl You Think You Are (dedicated to Pauline Hanson)

Truth (with a foray into Weather with you at the end)

Tokyo (great song about a guy who drugged Neil and Tim =P)

    Astro

    Faster Than Light

    Fall at Your Feet

Rocky RacCoon (yes the Beatles one)

    Hole in the River

    Try Whistling This

    Private Universe

    Souvenir

    Suffer Never

Joke: If a man goes in to a forest, far far away from any woman's hearing, and he says something, is he still wrong?)

    She will have her way

    ********

First encore: These encores we're not really sure of cause we went down the front with half the audience, and our scribe didn't take her note pad to record song names.

    Loose Tongue

    Mean to me

    Twisty Bass

I Got You (a very rollicking version with the audience louder than Neil)

    ********

    Second encore:

Don't Dream It's Over (just Neil and the keyboardist -- sorry, the names gone, and any way, he wasn't as good as Mark (happy birthday, Mark). A wonderful singalong version, including three seconds of "You Sexy Thing."

    some song (sorry)

    Dream Date

    OK, notes:

Bic Runga was great though she only sang five or six songs. She had lots of potential but seemed very nervous.

Then Neil came on :) and didn't really banter untill "Not the Girl You Think You Are," when everyone seemed to relax a bit. Lots of people screamed out the usual "I love you's" - with one "Get your gear off" which illicited a very calm "Now they're loosening up" from Neil.

In "Sinner," once again he tried to get everyone to sing in the got my eyes, got my face bit, and it was a bit too low for everyone, so it just kinda petered out.

Neil played a gorgeous version of "Hole in the River" on his little keyboard thing, and "Rocky Racoon" was great because it was obscure. There was a great version of "Private Universe" with deep bass and a amazing solo from Neil.

He dedicated "Suffer Never" to Tim and Harper, and did a 5-10 minute solo in the middle involving the machine at his feet (guitar people help!!) which he then proceeded to break, so the crew had to come on and fix before anything could continue. The crew guy (Marcus, Neil informed us) was egged on by Neil to get rid of half the stuff there "I don't need half that shit," but accidently pulled out a wire that meant nothing came from Neils guitar at all, which made Liam laugh (a rare occurence -- he's looking to take over Mark Harts place as quiet guy on the fringe of things).

They went off for a break, then came back on (Neil avec a glass of red wine) and it was at this point that half the stall moved to the front, which Neil said was cool. I hope I got some close-up shots of Neil, but every time I clapped I jolted my camera somehow and the counter moved backwards (so I took about 54 shots on a 24 exposure) The encores were great, specially "Don't Dream It's Over," which echoed around the huge and beautiful hall (I love the state theatre. I love Sydney. I love Neil. Well duh!)
