Yes, I really, really loved the show -- pity the man only did one show here :) BUT, one is better than none.

Either Peter or Nicholas mentioned something about how hyped up the crowd was, but I was a little disappointed in this regard. I know -- it is extrememly difficult to get real wound up at a seated concert, but honestly, I hardly saw a head bobbing or hand/foot tapping from anyone else. My friend and I were bopping away in about row 7 (I was SO lucky, my seat was directly in line with Neil --it was really excellent) but no one else really appeared to move - except for one person next to me (probably because I was bopping away and his seat moved as well!).

Even things like getting the crowd to sing along to "Sinner" and "Don't Dream It's Over" appeared to be quite a pathetic effort. I was happy to see a crowd there though. I was quite worried as if I had not been on this list -- would have never known about the show. I did not see promos for the tour, only a couple of ads for the album. Don't know how they all heard about it. Did anyone else from Bris or Sydney feel that crowd participation was not at its best? Mind you, having said that, when the crowd was singing "Don't Dream It's Over," Neil was standing there kinda swaying with his eyes shut -- must always be so damn good to hear the crowd hitting back the song at you.

But apart from that - I loved the show immensly and also enjoyed Bic Runga. Lighting was good, sound was good, and Neil and band great. I must admit that I did love it when Neil sat down and did absolutely versions of "Fall at your Feet" and "Distant Sun" -- almost bought tears to the eyes and I am not usually like that. "Hole in the River" was also done really well. I also was disappointed that he did not play "Message to My Girl," as I was really looking forward to this and it seems he played this almost everywhere else.

I am really getting into "Twisty Bass," but yeah, the distortion was not that great. A shame really, pretty darn groovy song. The show had incredible sound though and did really love it and would have loved to have gone to another....
