Monolith
Lloyd M. Lohr
Moai of the eastern isle, remote in your destiny, solemn in your assertion, unwavering in your vigil against obscurity, guardians of the sacred secret of Makemake, oh, kneeling statue, who do you pray to today? Coral eyes gaze skyward with a sense of foreboding,
Vai Uri represents the four fates of humanity everlasting,
Spoken invocation and inscribed word, matters most taboo. Makemake initiates the cult of fertility,
and of fates. While in a far distant land
could it not be a subtle act of remembrance, of better times?
Author Bio Thus far, Mr. Lohr has published well over 360 articles, short stories and poems. His writings have been published in 23 countries and translated into 17 languages, including Welsh, Hebrew, Romanian, Croat, Malay and Tamil. He is also a contributing author to the forthcoming ancient history anthology, "Encyclopedia of the Ancient World" scheduled for release in early 2001, by Salem Press. Lloyd says, "To all my Welsh-speaking soulmates out there; Ysdryd tracwyddol y Keltiad yddraic coch ddyrg cychwyn. Dyfal donc a dyrr y garreg! Look to Mother Earth and Sister Sky for inspiration regardless of your spiritual bent and write from your heart and soul. Seek the truth and find your way."
