The Eternity Wheel
Lloyd Michael Lohr
It is the apparition,
that lingers in the dark, unknown places,
that makes us shiver in the disclosure of uncomfortable truths,
many daggers of complacency,
we, born to commit self-murder in this obsidian culture,
to this end it is this dragon of anathema that we serve.
You are told that hope will give you shelter,
and that you must have faith,
yet you are thrown to the wolves of a the passionless embrace,
freedom of religion,
but only in their empty, languid image.
Mantra after soul burning mantra,
yet nothing is revealed,
the river of everlasting time flowing,
and the crown of bones signal's the dragon's promise,
and it leaves us with an inexplicable emptiness.
Black-boned and rising fast,
the epochs burn away into eons,
for the bleeding hand of your salvation,
disappears through the shattered veil of eternity,
and you are left to cry alone,
as the grinding wheel slowly turns your bones to dust.
