Author Bio
French-Italian-Polish poet Guillaume Apollinaire was born in Rome in 1880 and died in Paris at the end of the war in 1918. His real name was Wilhelm- Apollinaris von Kostrowitzky. His mother was a Polish noble lady, who lived in the Vatican.
His manifesto, "The New Spirit and the Poets" (L'Esprit Nouveau et les Poëtes), was published in 1917.
