In addition to all the mailing comments, we get some erotic fiction from Bernadette bosky and Arthur Rapp. They included a very strange application from something called the Christian Dating Club that seems to have everyone on earth including "non-evangelical-denomination unbelivers, those who have used contraceptives, divorced, semi-seducers, smokers, hadicapped, skin diseases, unemployed, male gynecologists, male dentists, the overweight."

Frank *exposed* the truth behind topless sunbathing on France's beaches. While going topless at French beaches is socially acceptable, only 16% of the women surveyed says they do it all the time. Another surprising statistic is that 76% said they consider their breasts beautiful. American responces would probably be half that figure. I also enjoyed Richard Hollender's informative recomendations for photographers and editors who work with nude models. He used to be the managing editor at *High Society* so he knows what he's talking about.

A lot of sexually oriented zines (to say nothing of mainstream magazines) tend to express their attraction to the feminine form with a poorly repressed drool. You can almost picture these guys slobbering on the keyboard as they adjust their trenchcoats. *Genuine Article*, however, presents its ideas intelligently and with style. The letters section is devoted to the discussion of breast augmentation, and there's even a letter from the editor of *D-Cup* magazine. There's the second part of "The Truth About Breast Implants," and an interview with Danielle Ashe, a naturally buxom nude model.

Just like *Dora Zine*, this is a very graphic and brutal publicaion, almost more so, with its deatailed descriptions of rape. If you are offended by material such as this (like *Answer Me* #4) I suggest that you just avoid it. Others who are interested in graphic descriptions and photographs of brutal sexuality are likely to find just what they're looking for. The stories are most certainly fiction, though with so many photographs, and limited reproduction techniques, I'm not sure that *all* of these photos are staged. Other then that, I have no further judgements.

And they frame the entire rant with cute hearts and stars and quotes from Olympia bands. So you can imagine what a tingly little jolt Jack and Jill (Off) gave me, with all its naked pics and stories of licking, fucking and sucking. Actually, the sex stories didn't seem much different than the regular fare in Penhouse's letters section, but what's really great about this zine are the masturbation stories, with such profound gems of advice as this: "Try lubing up tour dick and sliding it between the toilet bowl and seat. The smooth porcelain feels great, you can vary the pressure on your cock and clean up in amazingly simple!" What ingenuity! The one thing about the masturbation stories that kinda confused me was how perfectly perky they all were. Where are the tales of old men who just got released from the mental hospital last week, smell like fermented piss and wear nothing but Darth Vadar underoos, prowling around the subway cars and stopping to jack off in your face while hollering "You want mashed potatos?! I GOT YO' MASHED POTATOS!!" Actually, I do have a sorta interesting jerk-off story and since I'm not officially doing a zine anymore, I'll write it here. A couple weeks ago I was hitchhiking by myself from Mexico to San Francisco and this blond surfer boy picked me up around twilight. We somehow started talking about sex and he asked me if I would watch him jerk off. He said it so innocently, as if he was asking me to help with his paper route. I said okay, and we parked in a field and while the sun sunk down behind the ocean I watched him, um, wax his board. When he was done he drove me a couple more towns, we shook hands (very wet hands, albeit) and said goodbye. Okay, so to get back to the zine review, Jack and Jill (Off) is a good sex zine. A little too male-oriented, but if you're male then I guess you won't mind that.

Frank goes for the traditional zine style here by assempling a number of collages featuring waif-like models with bold, slogal-like texts pasted on top. While I've seen things like this often in zine (most notably Riot Grrrl zines), Frank's is certainly a more mature interpretation. This is by far his best issue yet. It features a wide range of articles covering sexuality from a multitude of perspectives. I loved everything in here but my favorate piece is the collection of short interviews with publishers of sex zines. Frank got the publishers of *Black Sheets, Paramour, Libido, Bust,* and *BNI* to all talk about why they do their zines. Frank's got a knack for getting people to open up via the Net. I enjoyed the articles where people responded to his inquries into women's feelings about condoms, if Black men really don't like to eat pussy, and unique place people have had sex. Great contributions from Richard Hollander about what really goes on at *Hight Society*, Lady Green exploring S/M in film, and a collection of photographs from Todd Friedman. To top it all off, there's a three page resource guide to Traci Lords' many films.

Bill Andriette reports on the new law requiring additional paperwork for sexually explicit publication. What this law requires is that publications maintain a public record of all the identies and ages of all models depicted in the magazine. It's so burdonsome that it will no doubt effect the bottom line of hundreds of tiny sex zines and may result in many of them shutting down for good. Because this law only applies to models engaging in "sexually explicit conduct," tame mainstream publications are alowed to go about their business unaffected. So far Brenda Tatelbaum is the first to go public in stating that she will not comply with the law in her publication *EIDOS*. Even though this legislation was created under the auspices of attacking groups like NAMBLA, it won't (directly) effect the publication *NAMBLA Bulletin*.

Lots of informative news and updates but the main features is Tuppy's profusely illustrated 10-page diary of her whirlwind trip around the U.S. The main reason for her visit was to reseach a book on high-class brothels but she also did an immense number of interviews for her latest political book. It's really wonderful hearing about all the people she met but even better are all the photos of the leading figure in the U.S. sex industry.
It also included a list of London area exotic Dancing. Lots of resources for things like swing club, fetish gatherings, sexuality magazines, and TV/TS boutiques.

The main feature is a full report on the 1995 Planet Sex ball. Tuppy also wrote up one of the most straghtfoward and informative piece I've ever read about the sexuality and sexual function of disabled people. It was written as a primer for sex workers so that they can better understand the needs and the responces of their disabled clients. It sounds like Tuppy is doing some incredible work for those people with sexual needs outside the mainstream. Bravo!

Lots of photographs from Brad Wallis, some very worthwhile book reviews, and a bit too many poems.
I for one would prefer more photographs. Recommened to people who enjoy *Yellow Silk*, it's an equal oportunity erotic magazine.

Alfred Vitale told a tale of a truck driver and a two-bit hooker; "Dogfood" presented a real New York love story; Ralph Greco told us about the struggles of a straight man who liked to be butt fucked; and "Prologue" contributed a quickie dirty story.
On of the most compelling literary zines -- sex and perversion does it every time.

Ooooh...this is their best issue yet, featuring a bonanza of erotic tattoo pictures. They reported on Charles Gatewood's visit to Manhattan and included some of his photos. Steve Bondage makes an appearance, contributing eight exciting pictures. Also contributing erotic tatoo photographs is Efraim Gonzalez, Michael Dash, Katrina del Mar, and James Graham.

What's that song?..."oh yes it's ladies night, oh what a night." Since the Editrix of *Porn Free* had so many men volunteering to pose nude she decided to produce a special "ladies issue." I like how they mix cheesy photos of naked guys in rediculous poses with lots of intriging writing. My favorate piece is the collection of interviews with women who work in the porn industry. They interviewed the senior editor at *Penthouse*, the head of Feminists for Free Expression, the marketing director for CyberSpice, and the owner of the Blue Angel Erotic Cabaret.
Since they're being so nice, include something (like a photo of your piece genitalia) for their trouble.

Most of the stories are even accompanied by email or P.O. Box addresses so you can contact the writer for dialog or more. Lots of photos too, that people sent him or he downloads from the Net. Unfortunately the resolution is somewhat lacking in this 300 dpi/xeroxed zine, but only time will tell what it will grow into. Lots of resources too, like hot web pages, newsgroups, zine reviews, and personal ads. Overall a really fun and very hot zine.

There's a really informative piece by Fakir Musafar explaining the proper ways of "branding" human bodies. This practice is becomming more popular these days but it's easy to do it wrong, creating an unplesant experiece or a non-distictive marking. Once you're done with that, it's time to move on to Gary's instructional piece on the proper use of single-tale whips and how to create a dynamic impact.

Of course it isn't a typical readers' poll as it includes such questions as "How long is your penis?" "How deep is your love?" and "What does semen taste like?" Seven people responded including such notables as d.b. VelVeeda and John Porcellino. I really enjoyed the sex toy reveiw section that features lengthy discussions about using Alka Seltzer, female condoms, and vibrators in sex play. Not to be too limiting, we get a rant about Windows 95 and a whole bunch of amusing comix.

Alex has switched to more reader friendly font, and I for one am grateful. There's a look at flagellation throughout history, a list of the top nine favorite porn films, and a review of my review of a previous issue of *Redemption*. "Playing With Fire" deals with fire play in S & M (appropriately enough, there's also a section on treating burns). There's fiction too, which is probably the weakest part of the zine.
If leather makes you itch, this isn't for you.

This issue looks at transgenderism, both female-to-male and male-to-female, mostly in classical Greek history and mythology. "The three greatest heroes found in Greek mythology all have something very interesting in common: at some time during their lives, Achilles, Heracles, and Theseus all took on characteristics of the opposite sex." Some of the essays here also cover transgenderism in modern pop culture (especially music) and tribal practices.

Tame by today's standards, a lot of this stuff manages to successfully combine innocence and erotica. This issue takes a look at the work of pin-up painter Bobby Toombs, cheesecake album cover photos, and a look back at the age of burlesque. TV's *Sheena Queen of the Jungle* gets the once over too.
An interesting glimpse at pin-up history.

This is *VX's* 100th consecutive issue. There's quite a variety of stuff reviewed within these pages: amateur, pro, bondage, catfights, spanking, and anal. The review of the video *The Fat, the Bald, and the Ugly* kind of made me cringe, but it exemplifies the attention to detail demonstrated by *VX's* publisher. All manner of erotic entertainment is covered, and there are plenty of ads to help the reader find what he or she is looking for.
