Women's Delegation to the North of Ireland

The Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission, a DC-based group
concerned with human rights violations in the North of Ireland,
is sponsoring a women's delegation to the North from June 5-12,
1993. The delegation will be led by pioneer civil rights
activist Bernadette Devlin McAliskey. The purpose of the trip is
to promote awareness of increasing violence against the
nationalist community there as well as to strengthen ties between
feminist women in America and feminist women in Ireland. Members
of the delegation will meet and be briefed by women who have been
part of the North's 25 years of unbroken resistance to British
domination. The trip will also include a visit to Maghaberry
Prison. The delegation is limited to 10 women. There are still
3 slots open. Total cost of the trip is approximately $300 plus
air fare. We ask delegation members to arrive in Belfast no
later than 3 pm on June 5th. Housing and all transporation have
been arranged. For more information, call or write NIHRC, P.O.
Box 53255, Washington, DC 20009 (202) 483-8998.
