I have a few suggestions:

  1) I Am of Ireland: Women of the North Speak Out by Elizabeth Shannon
This book attempted to give all viewpoints

  2) Peggy Deery: An Irish Family at War (can't remember the author)
This book is more from the Catholic viewpoint

I have suggested these books instead of the standard historical/political
texts (which are important in their way) because I also believe it is
important to put these problems into laypersons' terms and context. Often
we get caught up in the macro debate and somehow forget the specific
examples/conditions/situations that make up the subject that is so widely
debated.
