"We Will Seek Revenge For The Massacre In Istanbul!"

In response to the security forces massacre in the Kucukkay and 
Gaziosmanpasa districts of Istanbul, the European Representative of the 
National Liberation Front of Kurdistan (ERNK), Ali Garzan, issued the 
following statement:

	In the Kucukkay and Gaziosmanpasa districts of Istanbul, an 
attempt was made to massacre demonstrators, patriots, and followers of 
the Alevi faith. This massacre was planned by the Turkish state and the 
fascist contra-guerrillas carried out the bloodbath.  Now the state has 
deployed the army and the police and is attempting to repeat the massacre 
of Sivas.
	The same people responsible for the dirty war in Kurdistan have 
now sent bands of murderers amongst the people in Istanbul. This is a 
very obvious state plot to hinder our Newroz festivities and to disrupt 
our people's struggle for democracy and self-determination. The fact is, 
the inhabitants of both neighborhoods are Kurds or Kurds of the Alevi faith.
	After the attack, our people took to the streets in protest. We 
support the creation of independent people's self-defence units and the 
strengthening of an anti-fascist front. We also stand behind our people 
in their struggle against the fascists and the contra-guerrillas.
	The same people who were responsible for the massacres in Sivas 
and Maras, the destruction of the villages in Dersim and Kocgiri, and for 
murders throughout Kurdistan will now have to answer for their crimes. We 
extend out sympathies to the families of those who died and to all our 
people and we hope and expect that their resistance and struggle will now 
be intensified. We will support this resistance with all means available.
	We call on all democrats, patriots, and the public not to remain silent.
