KURD-A Documentation March 10, 1995 ERNK Holds Successful Annual Conference In Germany The National Liberation Front of Kurdistan (ERNK), which is banned in Germany, held its annual conference from February 27 to March 6, 1995. Ali Garzan, the European Representative of the ERNK, issued the following statement: The National Liberation Front of Kurdistan (ERNK) successfully held its annual conference in Germany from February 27 to March 6, 1995. A total of 116 out of 130 invited representatives of various associations, committees, and institutions took part in the conference. The fact that the 8th ERNK Conference could take place on German soil, despite all the repression from the German government, proves that the national liberation organizations can not be hindered by being banned. The conference was based on the lines of direction established by the 5th Party Congress of the PKK. The conference took place in a phase which is characterized by significant political developments in the whole world as well as in Kurdistan. The war being waged in Kurdistan has reached the stage of the seizure of power, meanwhile the Turkish state sinks ever deeper into crisis. The Turkish state is becoming isolated, both at home and abroad, and the war has reached a phase where the balance of power is equal. The delegates to the conference used their speeches to carry out a critical discussion and to report on the events of the past year. Despite certain organizational and practical mistakes, the activities of the front over the last year were both rapid and successful. The leaders and the delegates at the conference, on the basis of criticism and self-criticism, passed resolutions for 1995 based on the discussions and decisions of a working commission. The 8th ERNK Conference decided that, depending on the developments in Kurdistan, the goal should be to prepare our people, who are forced to live in exile, to seize power and carry it to Kurdistan. Front committees, institutions, sympathizers, and our patriotic people were called upon to mobilize, deepen their organizational work, and to use all their abilities and opportunities to struggle with great sacrifice for the liberation of our homeland. No imperialist plot or attack will have the power to stop our struggle, which is approaching victory. ERNK European Representation
