Review by Kelly Wood (wood@hunterlink.net.au)

Well, it was a smaller venue than the State Theatre, which suited the show very well - I think the bros enjoyed it much more and I know I did.

Waterbirth is a brand new song by Tim which is very minor in terms of key. Debut performance tonight :) Tim was impressed with the Newcastle crowd after someone yelled out "Change ya shoes Tim!" - he said it was the first time anyone had said anything about his bare feet for the whole tour! That's Newcastle for you... City of Hecklers ;)

Many stories forthcoming about tequila shots, babysitters, corporal punishment - Neil's youthful disappointment when learning that playing the guitar at parties one did not pick up girls as promised, but merely provided a soundtrack for his mates to go home and get laid.... Lies were told about the crew, precipitating a blackout on the stage... Breakdowns whenever tapes were involved - MSM and P, although that was caused by much difficulty tuning Neil's new ukulele...Impromptu song about new ukulele... Scorn was poured on Yamaha pianos.... Nazi ushers making sure no-one came within ten feet of the stage :( ... Neil played Crocodile Rock (I was scared) with Tim chanting "Neil's a dag!" over the top.... Home movies so sweet... Tim inspired by theatre setting to quote all the Shakespeare he could remember (two lines :) ....

U could say a good time was had by all :)

Piano-bass-drums versions of Dirty Creature and Chocolate Cake were funky and fantastic, Time For A Change brilliant as was Last Day Of June, Niwhai went off! Can I say again that the lighting for the show was soooo good. Really really really good.
